I was so nervous this morning just waiting for it to be time to go to my interview. I woke up at 8 and my interview wasn't until 12, so those four hours were torture. Luckily I was having a pretty good hair and makeup day and had a cute outfit to wear which boosted my self confidence a little. I wore a dark, vibrant blue flowy top from Forever21 tucked into a black pencil skirt with flats. I love the feeling of dressing up all proffesional so I hope I get the job and can do that more often.
I got to my interview 15 minutes early. I'm definitely glad that I did because I had a questionare to fill out beforehand that was more difficult to fill out than I expected. What brightens up my life when i'm in a bad mood? When was a time that I felt uncomfortable and how did I overcome it? When I was answering the questions I felt like I was going to run out of time but then I finished all the questions and just sat there waiting and waiting and waiting. Time seemed to be going by so slow and I just wanted to get it over with. I was happy when the woman from human resources came out and wasn't so scary at all. She was so friendly and all my nerves seemed to go away. During the interview she asked me about 10 questions. I can't remember all of them but none were so hard that I didn't have a good answer. Finally she said "Okay that was the last question, do you have any for me?" I was so relieved. I was done. I asked her what her favorite part about working at Macy's is and she seemed to really enjoy answering that question. She told me she's worked there for 18 years and how much she loves watching her employees grow and improve. She had a huge smile on her face as she was talking about it, which made me happy that Macy's must have a pretty good work environment. After that she gave me a big smile and said that she thought I would be perfect for a job in the young men's department but it's full time and she told me she wanted to "put me in a permanent position, not just one for the summer." That was amazing to hear! I must have done pretty well! She went on to say that my answers were great. (I sure hope so since Amanda and I prepared so much for the interview). She told me that woman's shoes had a few open positions for part time and called in the manager to have my second interview right on the spot! When the woman came in, she was so friendly and explained the duties of the position and said that she thinks I would be great and that she would call me tomorrow! Fingers crossed! I'm sure that Amanda's interviews will go great too and hopefully we'll both get the job. :)
After my interview was all over I got to spend the day with my boyfriend, Nolan, before he went to work. We watched movies for a few hours and just relaxed. It was so nice not to be stressed over getting the job or not, atleast for a few hours. I've been trying to keep my mind off of it though. When I got home I decided I would look up a new recipe on Pinterest to cook for dinner. I decided to make baked garlic chicken which was DELICIOUS. It was chicken breast with a garlic/ brown sugar sauce baked in the oven until crispy on top. I made white rice cooked in chicken broth instead of water to go with it and (not trying to toot my own horn) but.... TOOT TOOT! I am a good cook. :)
It's been a long day and I have to get up early tomorrow so I think it's abut time to stop writing, enjoy a movie with some ice cream and get some sleep. Hopefully I wake up tomorrow and get a call that i've been hired. Not getting my hopes up though!
